Greetings all. Hope you all enjoyed a great break over the holiday period. We have finally got our classes commencing in February. Please email us at to book any of the classes.

Sandra will be running a class for beginners which will run on the 22nd February & 1st March, 7pm-10pm. You will learn how to use your rotary cutter, mat and ruler, as well as trying several different techniques of quilting, raw edge applique and binding and completing a set of Japanese influenced place mats. Cost of the course is $50.00 and you will receive comprehensive notes and a free pattern.

We have a general quilting class running from Wednesday 8th March for 6 weeks, from 7pm – 10pm, term fee is $150.00. Your tutor, Sandra, will be taking the classes.

For all of you that love working with felt and wool, we will be holding a casual hand quilting class on Thursday 23rd February from 7pm-10pm. Price is $5.00. This class will be very much based on shared knowledge and a great opportunity to learn some new stitches and maybe pick up some handy new tips.

We will be adding several more workshops very soon, including quilt-as-you-go. We will keep you all posted as they are added.

In the new products department, some stunning new fabrics are starting to arrive. Stof have brought out some beautiful new shot cotton fabrics, great value at $36.70 and are 150cm wide. They have released some beautifully soft knit fabrics as well in lovely delicate prints, perfect for baby wraps, burp cloths and clothing. Check out the photos, or better still, come on in and check them out. Wendy Williams’s patterns have been a huge hit and we have just received a whole bunch of new ones. Zen Chic and Jazz patterns have arrived, along with some lovely books. The Cog Wash Quilt we have been working on is finally finished, a fantastic guy’s quilt that’s just a little bit different. We have patterns and kits available. We also have just received an amazing dragon fly kit from Moda, it is truly stunning, especially when appliqued onto a digitally printed background.

In the notions department, we now have Stitchery and Applique needles from Hugs N Kisses. They come in a handy little tube and are a must for any sewing box.

Happy quilting everyone

Sandra & Linda
